Gunning Bedford Panthers Sports

Welcome GB!!! We are excited for a succesful year in GB sports. Congratulations to anyone who made our spring sports teams this school year.  Go to your sport on the left side and click on Team info for exact dates and times for games and tryouts. There will be after school buses for tyouts however if you are a choice student, you will need to be picked up at 4:30. Please keep an eye on the website for updates dealing with tryouts, game cancellations and changes. GO PANTHERS!!!

Important DIAA note - If you plan on trying out for a sport this school year, now is the time to get your DIAA sports physical completed by a doctor. Anyone planning on trying out for boys or girls basketball must have it in by November 16th.


Information on Specific Sports teams are under Team info once you click on the sport to the left.  There will be after school buses that leave at 4:45 for any students who are not choice students. Choice students will need to be picked up at 4:40.

 If you plan on playing a sport in the 2023-2024 school year, make sure you get your physicals done now so you are ready for tryouts. Physicals must be signed on or after April 1 2023. They are then good for the school year 2023/2024. The Physical Link is on the left side. Use that to print out the physical.

Gunning Bedford will NOT be offering sports physicals at the school for the 2023-2024 school year Please make sure you make an appointment with your doctor in advance or go to med express/clinic to get your sports DIAA physical so your child does not miss tryouts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get your DIAA sports physical now for this year.
The "new" DIAA forms are available on our Gunning Bedford Website and in our main office.  The DIAA physical forms MUST be filled out and signed by the doctor, parent and student and given ONLY to the nurse or Mr. Brelick. Students are being asked to bring in your completed DIAA physical form on the first day of school.  Please keep a copy and turn in the original.
If for any reason the physical is not COMPLETELY filled out, the student will not be able to stay after school until it is finished. Any question, please contact Mr. Brelick @ michael.brelick@colonial.k12.de.us or phone 302-832-6280 ext 6041 or Mrs. Taylor @ ext 1330.

 NO signed physical forms = No physical.                       No physical = No tryouts
Fall sports :       Field hockey and soccer
Winter sports :   wrestling, cheerleading and basketball
Spring sports :   Baseball, track and softball 

To be eligible for sports, you must have a GPA of 1.75 or greater from last year, a DIAA sports physical on file with Mrs. Taylor, our school nurse and a completed parent/ student sports packet including insurance forms.

Eligibility for sports for the fall include the following:
     GPA of 1.75 for the end of last school year
     DIAA sports physical on file with school nurse, Mrs. Taylor before August 31st, 2023
